Christina Kayser O.
From her base in Copenhagen, Danish photographer Christina Kayser O captures the brief beauty in everyday scenes: shadows cast against a wall, the hue of a surface and the graphic lines of a streetscape all suddenly come into sharp focus. With a keen eye for detail, she transforms these fleeting impressions into graphic photo art.
In her work, spontaneity is key. “Mostly I don’t approach projects with a set of rules on what I’m trying to accomplish. I just seize the moment and shoot,” she says.
While Christina approaches her craft with flexibility, her work is unified by a love for aesthetics, graphic simplicity and the powerful use of colour and form. Colours, in particular, breathe life into her compositions, making them visually compelling and expressive. She is especially drawn to minimalistic pastel hues and the calming atmospheres these tones evoke.
Photographic Storytelling
“I’m always inspired by colours and the mood they instantly take me to. Colours bring life to things and mastering the use of colour helps me to create visually compelling and meaningful compositions,” Christina explains.
Her travels to California, Israel, Berlin, Antwerp and New York fuel her creativity. Always with stories in mind, she captures the magic of each moment: ”I see pictures all the time and I will never let go of my passion for aesthetics, graphic simplicity, colours and shapes.”
